Celebrating Mother’s Day – Mothers hold a special place in our hearts. Their love, compassion, and sacrifices are deeply woven into the fabric of our faith. The Quran itself reminds us of the importance of honoring our mothers, emphasizing their care and perseverance throughout our lives.
While we dedicate a specific day to celebrate mothers, the essence of motherhood transcends calendars. For NCR-CET’s incredible mothers, every day is an opportunity to cherish the unwavering support you provide to your children.
Quran 17:23-24: “[And your Lord has decreed that you worship none but Him and that you be kind to your parents. Do not distress either of them in their lifetime. And speak to them with affirming words. And lower your wing from humility [out of respect] for them and say, ‘My Lord, have mercy upon them as they brought me up in childhood.'”
This verse beautifully highlights the importance of kindness and respect towards parents, emphasizing their role in our upbringing.
Quran 31:14-15: “And We have enjoined upon man [care] for his parents. His mother carried him in hardship upon hardship, and his weaning is in two years – be grateful to Me and to your parents – and to Me is the destination.”
This verse reminds us of the sacrifices mothers make throughout our lives, from carrying us in the womb to raising us with love.

A mother’s dua (supplication) holds immense power. Your constant prayers are a shield for your children, protecting them and guiding them on the right path. The sacrifices you make, big and small, teach your children valuable lessons about perseverance and hard work. Your unconditional love provides a safe space for your children to grow, learn, and take risks.
Every Day is an Opportunity to Show Gratitude
While Mother’s Day offers a dedicated time to celebrate, remember that every day is a chance to express your love and appreciation to your mother. Here are some ways you, as NCR-CET students, can show your gratitude:
✔️ Ease your mother’s burden by taking on household chores or errands.
✔️ Have meaningful conversations, share a meal, or simply enjoy each other’s company.
✔️ Tell your mother how much you appreciate her and all that she does for you.
✔️ If your mother is also a student, offer support with her studies or childcare.
